Shark Swim School Staff

Shark Swim School uses regular swimming teachers. All of our swimming teachers are CRB checked and qualified to teach swimming. We also employ qualified lifeguards during our sessions for your safety.

Jenny

Jenny is a co-founder of Shark Swim School. She is a Devonian by birth and therefore an Emmet. Jenny works at Pool Business and Enterprise College where she teaches swimming. She is an ASA swimming coach and also a qualified Life Saver. In her youth Jenny represented Cornwall Schools, the South West region and represented Great Britain at Surf Life Saving and held many national records oh and she often beat Sharron Davis although not in looks!!! She has also represented Great Britain in Surf Life Saving. She occasionally swims competitively in Masters events and even still wins the odd Gold Medal!

Jo

Jo Brigly originally hails from Liverpool so she is a Emmet and a Scouser! Jo was a competitive swimmer for Liverpool swimming club and was selected for the England team in 1981. Jo became a swimming teacher in 1987 and has worked in many Leisure Centres around the Country. Jo also currently teaches swimming at Bolitho School. Jo also still competes in competitions and only recently she competed in the Cornish open meet at Truro and won four medals (2 x Golds and 2 x Silver).

Abi was born in Scotland and moved to Cornwall when she was 3. Having worked as a lifeguard and swim assistant for 2 and a half years at Carn Brea she felt a challenge was in order and so during the summer decided to head to the States for the opportunity of a lifetime! She got the chance to lifeguard at a camp for adults and children with special needs! It was Amazing!  Whennot busy working Abi loves to be at the beach surfing or watching the surf, and plans on returning to Surf lifesaving! She is also a keen hockey player and plays for Truro ladies 2nd team!

Connor Spark is in Year 11 at Pool Academy and has been made a prefect this year. Connor has been a member of both Portreath and Perranporth Surf Life Saving Clubs, he has also swam for Truro City Swim Club. He loves being in the sea and swimming pool. Connor learnt to swim at Shark Swim School and says ''Shark Swim School is still as good now as it was then'' and thinks it is a fun way to learn the vital skill of swimming.
